Qu, a provider of restaurant technology, has announced upgrades to its kiosk systems aimed at helping quick-service and fast-casual restaurants increase revenue and ease staff workload.

The enhancements, which are available to Qu customers, address common barriers to kiosk adoption such as cost and integration difficulties, according to a press release

More than half, 62%, of restaurant brands use or plan to adopt kiosk technology, an increase from 43% a year ago, according to Qu’s 2025 State of Digital report.

The company’s additional features include multi-select cross-sells, loyalty prompts and support for multi-brand loyalty programs, all of which are designed to boost check averages. Early results from customers like Taco John’s and WOWorks show higher average tickets for kiosk orders compared to counter service.

The upgrades also focus on improving operational efficiency by allowing Qu’s Flex POS terminals to switch between cashier and guest-facing modes. This gives restaurants the flexibility to deploy staff where they are needed most during peak hours. Additional features include dynamic screensavers for brand engagement and accessibility options such as ADA screen reader support and multiple language options.

“By reducing time spent on repetitive screen tasks, employees can focus on the faster-paced, hands-on parts of the job that require coordination, attention and a human touch,” Brian Crum, Qu’s VP of product, said in the release. “This flexibility also opens opportunities to hire from a broader talent pool, accommodating employees with different comfort levels for guest interaction.”
